Telene® processing



  • Telene® is a two-component system based on extra-high purity dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) reacting via a Ring Opening Metathesis Polymerization
  • Telene® is a low viscosity liquid which is processed using RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) equipment with a self-cleaning mixing head
  • Telene® is injected into a closed mold at low pressure and temperature
    (mold: 60 / 80 °C, components: 20 / 35 °C)
  • Because of low internal mold pressure compared to injection molding, the start-up investment for mold (usually aluminium) remains limited and other production equipment can be minimized
  • Usual cycle times from 4 to 6 minutes
  • Telene® is self-demolding without any need for release agents
